Studio Policies and Handbook

When you register in the parent portal, you sign off many of our studio policies and liability waivers. For your convenience, we have also listed some of them below (scroll past handbook image).

Below is a handbook we've put together (click on the arrows on right to flip through every page) with all the important things you may want to have handy in one place! Printed copies are available in the studio, please make sure to grab one! The digital version below has links (links may only be clickable when you're on a computer, not a phone).

Refund policy and dropping a class

There are no refunds if you drop a class(es) after the first class of the session. Students are also not able to get a true feel for a dance class, after just one class. Always remember, it may take a few classes for them to warm up and feel comfortable - especially the younger ones. A 30 day written (email) withdrawal notice is required in advance of a student ending lessons, before the end of the session. Tuition will still be due for the number of classes left in that 30 days.

The student may continue classes during the 30 days the notice was given for. Not showing up to class or just discontinuing coming without notifying the studio, is NOT the same as providing written withdrawal notice. If you don't communicate with us, we do not know you need to discontinue. There are no refunds given on tuition payments that have already been made, in part or in whole.

Tuition and late fees

Tuition is due before the first day of your scheduled class. ALL FAMILIES MUST HAVE A CARD ON FILE AND BE ENROLLED IN AUTO PAY, beginning January 1, 2022. Cards will be charged on the first of the month. If your card is declined, you have 2 days to make the payment with a new card or a late fee will be posted to your account.

Late registration

If joining the session late, there is no pro-rating of tuition for that current tuition installment. However, dancers MAY do makeup classes in any class of the same level.

Dress code

Dancers are expected to follow dress code. Our dress code can be found HERE. We have an online dance store as well, the link can be found on our dress code page as well. Our dance teams often have different requirements for PERFORMANCES, please reference your team material.

Make up classes

Dancers are allowed 2 makeup classes, per class, per session. Classes must be made up within 2 weeks of the missed class. To attend a makeup class, please choose an age/level appropriate class. First email to make sure the class isn't full, and then check in at the front desk to sign in.

COVID-19 Policies
  1. Effective 2/28/22, in accordance with Governor Pritzker's announcement, masks are optional in all areas of our building. This is subject to change based on state and local guidance, or the needs of our student population.

  2. We adhere to CDC, state, and county guidelines with regard to the COVID-19 pandemic, and ask that symptomatic students stay out of our building, regardless of vaccination status. In the event that a student needs to isolate or quarantine for any health reason, we provide their class(es) via Zoom. (Please see the DDA Families page for virtual class info.)

  3. Physical distancing while indoors is still recommended, so we are asking that parents of dancers who are 7 years of age or older wait outside our building. By keeping our common areas less congested we are able to offer adequate space for our dancers who are between classes.
